Energy flux from POLAR UVI images, May 19, 1996

Calibrated images from POLAR UVI have been separated into dayglow and auroral components. The auroral contribution was then interpreted in terms of energy flux of the precipitating electrons. Shown is this energy flux mapped to a geomagnetic (apex) coordinate system.
