Key Parameters from WIND,
May 19, 1996
Daily KP survey data from WIND. The spacecraft was approximately 100
RE in front of the magnetosphere. Note the southward
turning of the solar wind magnetic field at 16:00 UT and 18:45 UT.
The auroral images show the first brightening at about 17:30 UT, and a
major brightening at about 20:20 UT, i.e. about 100 minutes after each
of these southward turning Bz occurrences.
