Auroral Picture from the the POLAR satellite

The VIS imager observes the global auorora from the POLAR spacecraft. The storm on 6 November, 2000, (day 311) shows that the aurora expanded southward to be seen overhead in Northern Ireland, Denmark, and the south coast of the Baltic Sea. Weather permitting, it should have been visible on the northern horizon throughout central Europe.
