Sun and Moon Rise and Set Times for Fairbanks

The sun and moon rise and set times for each day of the year are depicted graphically. White bars indicate the sun-up and moon-up period for each day. The original data tables were obtained from URL http://riemann.usno.navy.mil/AA/data/docs/RS_OneYear.html and are presented here in graphical form. The numbers give the local time (AST) of rise and set times in hours and minutes. The plot of sun rise and set times shows the sun rise and set as white bars, and the nautical twilight (12 degrees depression angle) in red. The combination plots show the moon-up in white, the sun-up in yellow, and the nautical twilight in red. Only the time given by the black part of the combination graphs is useful for auroral observations. (Click on a thumbnail picture to get the full size graph.)
